About the Item
A wonderful George IV mahogany library chair upholstered in chestnut brown soft leather.
The chair displays a tall generous square back accompanied with lotus carved scroll hand rests with over stuffed horse hair upholstery.
The squab seat cushion in supple leather complements the comfortable seat, raised on turned and reeded legs finished on brass castors.
This chair is very comfortable having benefited from a new chair base and seat cushion. The vintage leather upholstery is in excellent order and slightly distressed in areas with great country house appeal and ready to serve for another 200 years!
Attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, England.
English, circa 1820.
