About the Item

A demure 19th century Victorian nursing chair with a deep buttoned backrest and low scrolled armrests. The chair is raised on beautifully turned mahogany legs and finished on brass castors. The armchair has been fully restored and stripped back to the solid mahogany frame for upholstery with a new coil spring base, with hessian lining and calico coverings added before being finished in sumptuous navy blue velvet upholstery. The chair is very comfortable with good proportions making it perfect for smaller spaces. English, circa 1880.
