About the Item
A very fine Armchair with finely carved details at arms, legs and stretcher. The chair has a very fine aged patina to the once gilt frame with areas of finish loss revealing the underlying gesso with much of the frame retaining the original gilt. The arms with Shell carving, , Shields and Foliate carving, the elaborate scrolling X Stretcher with a large Central Sunflower, the legs with Acanthus leaves and a well defined Hoof Foot. The chair is impeccably custom upholstered in a deep Wheat tone natural weave fabric with woven stylized Pine Cone form elements in a contrasting Copper/ Gold color.
Dimensions: 26.5” wide by 25” deep by 43” high. Seat height 18.5”.
Condition: Please see detail photos. There are various expected signs of age including finish losses, fading and some chips to the frame as well as an area at the middle top back with some fabric fraying all mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is magnificent.
