About the Item
A fine pair of 19th Century mahogany carver armchairs of fabulous quality, stunningly hand carved with rich patination and grain. The serpentine crest rail is raised above pierced and shaped back splat with centred acanthus leaf and s-scroll motif detail, flanked by down-swept scrolling arms. The beautiful newly reupholstered padded seat with a pair of gorgeous peacocks set amongst flowers and foliate in delicate hues of greens, white, yellow and blue against pale green ground above moulded apron, supported on elegant sabre legs to the rear and tapering, ring turned legs to the fore.
