This armchair from the Francisco collection—designed by Bruno de Carvalho as a tribute to his youngest son—translates the warmth and expressive craftsmanship of the original sofa into a more compact, sculptural form. Made entirely from solid wood, the chair showcases the line’s signature slatted backrest, offering a visual rhythm that’s both architectural and inviting. Generously proportioned for an armchair, it allows for varied seating postures, including the relaxed, sideways sprawl of a classic namoradeira. The seat is wrapped in a relaxed fabric and layered with three densities of foam to ensure enduring comfort. Resting against the wooden slats, the back cushions are filled with honeycombed recycled PET fibers—an eco-conscious alternative to down that replicates its plush feel without environmental compromise. The Francisco armchair is a harmonious blend of emotional design, honest materials, and sustainable innovation.
