About the Item

A charming, late 18th/early 19th century armchair from the alpine Savoie region. Constructed from a mixture of timbers including fruitwood and pine, heavily patinated and beautifully time-worn with characterful markings and initials etched into the frame. Turned front legs and stretchers provide decorative elements to an otherwise primitive piece of folk history. French, c. 1800.
