About the Item

A striking pair of armchairs attributed to Frits Schlegel, featuring a solid cherrywood frame, with original Viennese cane seat and backrest. The flared back legs flow seamlessly into the curved, pointed armrests, forming a unique angular silhouette. Beautiful overall construction with stretchers connecting the legs and providing added reinforcement behind the backrest. Each chair features a fresh custom cushion upholstered in a beautiful textured, off-white fabric. An extremely unique and unusual design, and surprisingly comfortable. The chairs are in Very good vintage condition. The frames have been professionally refinished and are solid and sturdy. The original cane is in incredible condition with only a couple of very, very minor imperfections which are barely noticeable. They are ready to be placed in a high end interior.
