About the Item
A Pair of 18th Century Italian Rococo Armchairs. Each chair is carved and polychrome painted in soft greens, pinks, and blues, with delicate floral accents. The frames display the graceful curves and ornate scrollwork characteristic of the Rococo style, with shell and foliate crest carvings, scrolled arms, and cabriole legs ending in scroll feet. Chair seats and backs are upholstered in a checked pattern with tufted backs and loose seat cushions for comfort. These chairs can work beautifully in modern homes as accent chairs in living areas, as dining room end chairs, as statement seating in a bedroom. They can also be used as entryway seating to flank a console table, or in a study as a chic writing desk chair.
