About the Item

The armchair features a completely new green velvet fabric. It is important to remember that Zanuso was inspired by the automotive design method [source-less] for the creation of the armchair, representing the various parts that compose it separately. By doing so, all the structural elements are integrated into the whole consisting of the seat, back and armrests, creating a homogeneous and complete upholstery. Over the years, the armchair has remained virtually unchanged in aesthetics, then becoming a sought-after object over time. The lady armchair is identified by a new construction system, based on the concept whereby it is possible to transform the armchair from a single structure, on which the upholstery is applied and shaped, into a piece of furniture consisting of smaller, flat and more manageable elements that can be upholstered and assembled before they are put together. This process facilitates the possibility of series work with the application of subsequent specialized operations by making elastic parts that are molded, upholstered cut and sewn by machine, and finally pocketed.
