About the Item

Late 19th/Early 20th Century American Windsor Chair. The elegant New England Windsor was made in the late 19th Century using hardwood construction. Most likely a fruitwood was used. The single saddle seat is the structural hub : legs are mortised into this and spindles pegged into the top. The turned legs, thin spindles and small arms make this a lovely chair for a hallway, guest bedroom or small entryway. A perfect example of the American version of the English original.
