About the Item

Very good condition, the upholstery has been expertly redone in an original super bouclé, only the original lower part with the signature has been kept Designed by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia (originally C&B) in 1972, Le Bambole is one of the most significant icons of Italian industrial design. It redefined the concept of upholstered furniture, blending radical aesthetics with structural innovation. Mario Bellini (Milan, February 1, 1935) is an Italian designer. He graduated in architecture in 1959 at the Milan Polytechnic where his professors were Ernesto Nathan Rogers, Gio Ponti, and Piero Portaluppi, at the time Dean of the Faculty of Architecture. C&B Italia S.p.A. is an Italian company founded in 1966 in Novedrate, a manufacturer of furniture, furnishings and other objects for the home. In the sixties he began his activity in the Kield of design, opening a professional studio. From 1961 to 1963 he was director of design at la Rinascente, the famous and prestigious chain of department stores. From 1963 he held the position of chief design consultant at the Olivetti company; from 1969 to 1971 he was president of the Industrial Design Association and in 1978 he became a research and design consultant for the Renault car manufacturer. From 1986 to 1991 Bellini was director of Domus and from 1979 to 2019 he was a member of the ScientiKic Council of the design section for the Milan Triennale. B&B Italia, the company that produces "Le Bambole," it's worth highlighting why this brand is considered the "gold standard" of Italian industrial design. Founded in 1966 by Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, B&B Italia (initially called C&B) was born with a specific mission: to move away from traditional artisanal furniture and embrace an industrial approach.
