About the Item
This is a beautiful set of fauteuils in a neutral tan, in the style of Louis XV.
Chairs of the Louis XV period style are comfortable, more comfortable than the Louis XIV period. The chairs of this period take on a lighter appearance, scaled down from the more massive furniture that came earlier, and the two armchairs offered here reflect that. The chairs are light, but they are sturdy. They are beautiful, upholstered in tan silk with a French empire wreath design and two large self pillows. The chairs are made of oak that has developed a deep patina, and there is detailed carving on the back, knees and legs of the chairs.
The chairs measure 28 inches wide, 27 inches deep and 38 inches tall.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. The chairs are upholstered in tan silk decorated with the French Empire wreath which I am sure is not original to the chairs. The wear to the armchairs is visible in the finish of the wood carving. The chairs present very well and are comfortable.
