About the Item
A matched pair of 18th century French Louis XVI fauteuils in original painted finish, one bearing the stamp of Adrian Pierre Dupain (Maitre 1772). Dupain's pieces are in important private collections as well as at Versailles, Petit Trianon and at the Louvre. Currently upholstered in a pale blue silk fabric.
The frames are simple, square upholstered backs with upholstered seat and arms, all on tapering fluted legs. One chair has a carved ring detail at the top of each leg. The chairs match a period Marquise offered by us on 1st Dibs as well, and can be purchased as a suite at a reduced price.
