About the Item

A beautiful pair of Brutalist armchairs / huntingchairs crafted in Spain during the 1960s, combining architectural form with raw, organic materials. These chairs exemplify early Brutalist furniture aesthetics, emphasizing solid construction, bold proportions, and an unpretentious yet sculptural presence. Each armchair features a robust solid wood frame with strong, angular legs and supportive stretchers that echo the structural honesty of Brutalist design. The seats and backrests are upholstered in rich brown leather, accented with exposed nailhead trim, adding tactile warmth and traditional craftsmanship to the otherwise elemental forms. The chairs’ austere lines and expressive use of materials—particularly the juxtaposition of heavy oak and natural leather—make them equally suited to both contemporary interiors and classic design collections. These modern armchairs will fit in many types of home decors. Perfectly suited for a Classic, Wabi Sabi, Scandinavian or a Modern interior style. Some similarities to the Danish Designers Kaare Klint and the "Hunting Chairs" by Børge Mogensen.
