About the Item

The weight of the Zeca armchair is only one of its qualities, which is inherent to the use of marine plywood, leaving the entire seat area overhanging. Besides its structural beauty, the armchair is upholstered and comfortable. Crafted from naval plywood, the frame forms a bold, angular silhouette, its distinctive Z-shaped profile showcasing both strength and elegance. The warm, natural grain of the wood contrasts beautifully with the deep blue Pierre Frey Teddy Mohair Orage upholstery, whose plush texture adds a sense of luxury. The armchair’s reclining posture, with its angled seat and backrest, offers a relaxed seating experience, while the open triangular cutouts in the armrests lighten the visual mass and emphasize the design’s modernist sensibility. This piece reflects Zanine Caldas’s mastery in blending organic materials with precise geometry, resulting in a work that feels timeless yet distinctly of its era.
