About the Item

Mid-Century Modern Barrel-Back Chair by Dunbar one of America's finest furniture producers circa 1960's. Our Vintage Barrel Back Chair is ultra comfortable as are most barrel back chairs and was removed from a local Chicago home, chock full of very high-quality American made Dunbar furniture. Dunbar was one of a handful of companies whose name would be spoken of in the same breath as Baker or Kittinger all of which made some of the finest American furniture. We believe that somewhere along the line the chair must have been recovered because the condition is so nice.

Antique French Shearling Upholstered Armchair Completely Restored using Old School methods, which simply means we do not use foam rubber for padding and actually tie the coil springs by hand, However, this Antique French Armchair is so old that there is not a straight line in sight for everything is a bit askew. I would prefer to simply describe it as cattywampus. Apparently the internet defines it as "something askew, out of line, or in disarray". None of this bothers us and it comes with the territory of purchasing 200-year old French Armchairs, so we're used to it.
