This magnificent Renaissance style oak throne chair, attributed to the renowned American cabinetmaker R.J. Horner, exemplifies the grandeur and elaborate craftsmanship of late 19th-century revival furniture. The richly carved oak frame features an intricately detailed crest with a fierce grotesque mask surrounded by scrolling foliage, embodying the bold character and symbolism of Renaissance design. The oval upholstered back and generously cushioned seat are framed by deeply carved arms and supports, offering both comfort and dramatic presence.
