About the Item
The curved Lazy Day Armchair is part of a seating collection with armchairs and sofas for two or three people.
This piece is entirely made in Portugal and artisanally by the author. Its manufacturing process is time-consuming because, among other operations, it has several layers of different materials hidden inside the curved wooden back that provide resistance and shape its round form without the use of machinery.
After the final shape is ready, the curved wooden back is mastercrafted with carefully selected walnut with natural patterns. The author himself chooses the wood veneer, and bookmatches them to achieve the best result in the piece. The final finish on the back is a high-gloss varnish to enhance the wood's natural beauty.
The sleek legs are made of thick stainless steel tubes, with a handmade brushed finish. A small piece of brushed stainless steel ends the piece on the edge of the wooden back.
This armchair manufacturing process is time-consuming. Due to the long hours of delicate construction, it is finished with meticulous attention to detail, resulting in exceptional craftsmanship.
We can also manufacture this armchair in customised options:
Legs: Lacquered thick steel with gold, copper, or silver finish. Brass, copper or stainless steel, with a handmade polished or brushed finish.
The polished finish takes longer to manufacture than the brushed finish because the polishing operation is time-consuming and requires several steps for surface preparation.
Wooden back: High-gloss, satin, or matte finish; another wood veneer (ironwood, ebony macassar, tineo, black oak) or lacquered wood in any RAL colour.
Upholstery: Cotton velvet fabric in different colours. The cushions are filled with soft, comfortable foam. Custom fabrics must be analysed by the author (the client must send us a COM reference or a sample).
Dimensions: Each piece is handmade by order, so we can also manufacture the armchair with a 45 cm (17.7 inches) seat height.
This piece is assembled and delivered in a wooden box wrapped in bubble wrap. Please let me know if you have any other questions about the piece.
