We are delighted to offer for sale this sublime and highly collectable George Smith Signature Scroll Arm Aztec Kilim Armchair with oversized feather filled cushion This is just about the finest armchair available to buy today upholstered with vintage Aztec Kilim upholstery which is as “English Country House Fine” as you can get. The chair cost nearly £5000 in this size (which is the largest) for the frames alone, you then have one and a half Kilims which retail for £1800 each and have to pay to have them upholstered! This model of chair almost never come up on the open market for sale pre loved as they are all kept in the family, they are amazing. The cushion is overstuffed feather and down filled, it is enormous and recess under the back rest which means your never sitting edge of the cushion so you don’t sink Condition wise it has been professionally upholstery cleaned twice, there is fading to the fabric and wear in places in the form of fraying, please view the pictures Dimensions each Height:- 81cm seat height 47cm Width:- 84.5cm Depth:- 106cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
