About the Item
Pair Antique French Louis XIII Armchairs with Tapestry Upholstery will make a handsome addition to any room! Tall, fully upholstered seatbacks combine with a generous seat to provide excellent comfort, with the luxurious tapestry upholstery in very good condition, even on the back side of the chairs, making them candidates for placement anywhere in the room. The subtly arched seatbacks are connected to the front of the framework with long, contoured armrests that are carved with acanthus fronds and feature rosettes on the scrolled armrest tips. The seatbacks also angle back for enhanced comfort. The turned front legs holding up the armrests transition to carved legs below the seat, with a plinth block adorned with rosettes and lions' paws carved on the feet. The legs of each chair are connected with a classic "H" stretcher for strength, with the added structural reinforcement of a decorative sculpted apron in front depicting shell and foliate motifs for wonderful visual appeal.
