About the Item
A Pair of Mid-Century Charles
Ray Eames EA 124 Lounge Chairs (Argentine Production, 1960s/70s)
A striking pair of EA 124 Lounge Chairs from the iconic Aluminium Group, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1958. This specific set was produced under authorized license in Argentina during the 1960s or 1970s, representing a fascinating piece of Mid-Century Modern design history from South America.
The EA 124 model, known for its high backrest and distinctive swivel base, is a masterpiece of design where the black fabric sling is stretched taut between the lightweight polished aluminum frame, creating a firm yet flexible seating experience.
Key Features:
• Designers: Charles
Ray Eames
• Model: EA 124 Lounge Chair (High Back)
• Manufacturer/Production: Authorized Argentine Licensee
• Era: Mid-Century Modern, circa 1960s–1970s
• Materials: Polished Aluminum, Original Black Fabric Upholstery
• Base: Four-star swivel base
Condition and Details:
These chairs are in original, unrestored vintage condition and show the honest patina and wear consistent with their age and history.
• Structure: The aluminum frames are sturdy and firm. They exhibit various signs of wear, including scratches, scuffs, and minor staining/tarnishing on the polished aluminum surfaces, but the overall appearance remains sharp and classic.
• Upholstery: The original black fabric upholstery shows signs of its age. There is visible wear, fading, and some minor tears/fraying at the stress points and corners (as shown in the detailed photos). Despite these cosmetic imperfections, the upholstery is intact and functional, allowing for continued use in its current authentic, vintage state.
• Provenance: The chairs do not bear a visible manufacturer's stamp or label, which is common for licensed production pieces of this era. They are guaranteed to be authentic Argentine-licensed production.
This pair is perfect for the collector who appreciates the originality and historical character of vintage pieces, or for someone seeking a restoration project for a highly sought-after Eames design.
Note: The price reflects the chairs' un-restored condition, original patina, and licensed Argentine provenance.

Charles Eames Lounge Chairs for Herman Miller
By Herman Miller, Charles Eames
Located in bari, IT
Set two lounge chairs model EA 108 designer Charles Eames for Herman Miller production 1960s.
Charles Eames began very early in life as a designer to the extent that he was employed, as early as age 14, in the workshops of the Laclede Steel Company.
He studied architecture at Washington University in St. Louis. He proposed to his professors the study of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright but, at first dissuaded from his intent, was later expelled from the school on the grounds that-we read in the commentary of one of the professors-"his point of view was too modern."
A great influence on him was Finnish architect Eero Saarinen, with whom he shared some professional experiences and became friends. In 1938, at the latter's invitation, he moved to Michigan, where he studied architecture at Cranbrook Academy of Art and later taught there, also becoming head of the Industrial Design department.
In 1941 he won, with Eero Saarinen, the competition for MoMA in New York concerning "Organic Design in Home Furnishing." Their work showed a new way of conceiving wooden furniture, experimenting with the use of bentwood plywood, as done a few years earlier by Alvar Aalto.
In 1941 he was united in second marriage to Ray Kaiser...
