About the Item

These antique fruitwood armchairs were crafted in France, circa 1760, and would make an elegant addition to a living room, study or library. The chairs stands on cabriole legs ending with paw feet over a scalloped apron decorated with floral and leaf motifs; each fauteuil is upholstered with its original handwoven needlepoint tapestry embellished with a lovely floral motifs. The seat flanked with carved armrests has been re-upholstered with a durable, light brown leather and dressed with decorative brass nail heads. Both armchairs are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorn a rich walnut patina. Measures: 27" W x 22" D x 43" H.
