About the Item

Add sophistication and texture to your interior with this elegant pair of antique armchairs, crafted in France circa 1880. Each chair is made of solid walnut and features hand-carved barley twist legs, stretchers, and arm supports, all hallmarks of the Louis XIII style. The square backs and wide seats are upholstered with original Aubusson tapestry, richly woven with floral and foliage motifs in soft hues of ochre, rose, sage, and indigo. The upholstery is framed with decorative brass nailhead trim for a refined finish, while the back panels are covered in new neutral velvet fabric for a polished appearance from every angle. Both chairs are sturdy and comfortable, in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorned with a warm walnut patina. Perfect for a library, salon, or formal sitting area. Measures: 22.75” W x 22” D x 37.5” H. Seat height: 20”.
