Bring stately French character to a study, dining room, or library with this pair of antique Louis XIII–style armchairs, crafted in France circa 1870 from solid walnut. Each generous fauteuil features a tall arched back framed with large decorative nailheads and upholstered in richly embossed leather displaying elegant foliate and scroll motifs. The sculpted walnut arms terminate in acanthus carvings, while the wide leather seats rest on turned legs connected by a shaped serpentine stretcher characteristic of Louis XIII design. The walnut exhibits a warm and inviting patina that complements the deep texture of the embossed leather panels.
