magnificent pair of armchairs from the 70s, structure in oak and imitation leather in the BOW WOOD style from STEINER, very good condition of the structure and the seat, classy and comfortable armchair From the 1950s, Steiner recruited designers who would make the success of the company for the next 20 years. In addition, the Plastic Research Workshop (A.R.P.) was created to remain at the forefront of innovation in the face of very active American designers such as Charles Eames or Eero Saarineen. Among these designers are: - Pierre Guariche, hired in 1951, to whom we owe, among others, the Vampire armchair with molded shell (1951), the Tonneau chair (1953) or the Corb armchair (1956) - Joseph-André Motte, with his 760 and 770 armchairs, his double-shell tripod A6 chair - René-Jean Caillette with his ladybird chair or his famous Diamond chair In the 1960s, Steiner distinguished itself by producing sofas adapted to changing customs which transformed the living room into a real living room. The designer Michel Mortier thus proposed in 1960 the Dachshund sofa and armchair or the SF103 fireside chair. In order to strengthen its offer for communities and offices, Steiner joins forces with the Italian Sedia to form the company Sedia-Steiner. It can thus compete with Herman Miller and Knoll International on this market. The offer focuses on the production of furniture inspired by the style of the 1930s with a tubular chrome structure, for example.
