About the Item
In this listing you will find a pair of stunning hand-carved armchairs in black lacquer. It is designed in style of Carlo Bugatti, while it blends characteristics of several traditional styles. The chair has a "smoker's bow" or Captain's style bentwood arm rail with spindles supporting it and the backrest. The most distinctive feature is the intricate relief carving on the vertical back splats and above the front legs. Similar ornate, hand-carved pieces can be found in a range of styles, from Victorian to specific regional folk art, or those inspired by Ethiopian or Indian designs. Made in Italy in the first quarter of the 20th Century.
The chairs are in overall good condition. They are fully sturdy and show small signs of time and use, such as scratches. They have been reupholstered at our workshop in black and white geometric fabric, which we hope enhances their design and beauty.
When purchased the chairs will be carefully wrapped up and packed in a way to avoid any damages in transport. As soon as shipped you will receive the tracking number for your package. If you have any additional questions regarding this piece please feel free to contact me.
