About the Item
"Made by Mücke Melder, an influential modernist furniture manufacturer that specialised in tubular steel designs.
It has been restored and reupholstered by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process. The chrome parts have been cleaned and professionally restored. The new upholstery is high quality leather, it's very easy to clean and retains its colours very well even in direct sunlight.
You can custom order this item with any upholstery you want, from soft leather to premium backhausen fabric, the choice is yours.
Sold as a set, although you can find these items as individual items on our profile as well.
This item features classic Bauhaus design elements. Elements of this style are neutral colours, and occasional bright primary colours. Bauhaus designers avoided the fussy and pretentious, looking for clean, modern lines instead. Perfect for a timeless, yet modern look.
More about the manufacturer:
Mucke Melder began production in 1928 with furniture made of nickel-plated and chrome-plated steel. The first type was a spring chair designed by A. Lurcat for the company Thonet, whose designs he often used under license. Arnošt Beck designed her own design for it.
Please get in touch with us for any questions you may have about this item's condition, authenticity or even our store in general. We're happy to help."

Pair of Vintage German Minimalist Chrome Black Armchairs from Thonet, 1970s
By Thonet
Located in Warszawa, Mazowieckie
This set of two armchairs was manufactured by the German Thonet manufacture during the 1970s. The frame is made of chrome-plated tubular steel. The chairs are made by plywood and covered with black synthetic leather. The minimalist form adds elegance, and the contoured seat improves comfort during use. Both pieces have manufactory labels.
Thonet is the oldest existing furniture company in the world. It began its long business in 1819 when the carpenter Michael Thonet founded a furniture workshop in Boppard, Germany.
