About the Item
A most handsome and impressive pair of Italian 19th century carved walnut armchairs. The four cabriole legs are joined by an ‘H’ stretcher. At the center of the scalloped frieze is a richly carved shell amidst two acanthus leaves. Above are impressive scrolled arms below the curved and large back with a moulded design and a top central shell. Wonderful exaggerated scale and warm patina throughout.
