About the Item

A pair of modernist influenced thumbtack armchairs by the noted Cambridge, MA artisan Charles Webb. Fashioned from solid cherry and with woven rush seats, this limited production design won a prestigious New England juried craft show award when first introduced in the early 1970s. Fifty years later, their spare but sturdy proportions and sinuous arms make them classic examples of the American postwar craft movement.
