About the Item

A beautiful pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. giltwood Bergères À Oreilles armchairs. Each armchair is raised by elegant cabriole legs with scrolled feet and finely carved seashell reserves at the corners. The arbalest shaped frieze displays charming scrolled foliate movements and is centered by an additional fine seashell. The elegantly curved cushioned arms display a mottled design and lead up to the wing designed back support with a fine berried laurel band and top central pierced scrolled foliate and floral reserve. Measure: Seat height: 20".
