About the Item
This pair of French Régence style 19th century high slanted back "fauteuils à la Reine" are upholstered in a new smooth muslin that contrasts nicely with the warmth of the walnut wood. The chairs are raised on four simple cabriole legs gently resting on hoofed feet. The skirt is adorned with a delicate motif, made of a carved shell flanked with lovely volutes. Each chair features sinuous scrolled arms. These beautiful high backed French walnut armchairs circa 1820 would make a commanding statement in any home, particularly in a living room or sitting room.
