elegant pair of Gio Ponti armchairs probably a unique pieces from a private residence in Arenzano, Genova, Italy 1955 from the same residence other important items designed by Gio Ponti manufactured by Cassina Meda - Italy re-upholstery in ice white velvet wood structure and brass feet measures: height: 86 cm, 72 x 79 cm , height seat: 43cm very good conditions available the photos with original fabric this model is very similar to the Cassina model and the armchairs designed for the First Class of the 'Conte Grande' Transatlantic Ocean Liner, circa 1948-1949 manufactured by Cassina, Meda, Italy. see also the very similar armchair model designed by Gio Ponti and Fornasetti for Vembi Burroughs office in Genova in 1951 and sold by Wright auction in Chicago Usa in 09 december 2007 at $36.000 a very similar pair of armchairs was sold in Christie's auction 08 June /2023 in New Yorkl at $ 31.500 Literature Alcune opere d'arte sul Conte Grande', Domus, no. 244, March 1950, p. 14 P.
