Pair of hand-carved Savonarola chairs, Renaissance style, 20th century
Gorgeous pair of "Savonarola" chairs, made of finely hand-carved solid wood, in perfect Renaissance style. These iconic designs, with their arched and crisscrossed structure, are inspired by the seats of the medieval and Renaissance periods, and are distinguished by their fine workmanship and strong stage presence. The backs and arms are richly carved with scroll and floral motifs, lending a timeless and classic elegance. The upholstered seats are covered with burgundy-red damask fabric decorated with gold motifs, embellished with decorative antique-style cords and tassels.
