About the Item

Rare Chinese fine wood horseshoe armchair. The curved upper border of circular section continuing in a broad sweep to the arms, sloping down and extending to the hook handles with rounded hands, supported by a back panel decorated with a raised rectangle with recessed corners, the lower panel carved with a pointed opening. The back posts extending across the seat to form the back legs, S-shaped side posts, straight front posts. The solid seat panel set in a rounded edge frame, the curvilinear cusped aprons with spandrels forming an arch between the front legs and a plain arched apron between the side legs, a shaped apron between the back legs.
