Beautiful pair of horseshoe-back armchairs (quanyi) in patinated hardwood.
The continuous curved top rail extends seamlessly into the armrests, following a design inherited from Ming-period aesthetics.
The central splat is finely pierced with scrolling motifs, repeated on the aprons below the seat.
Straight legs joined by stretcher supports ensure balance and structural elegance.
Attractive patina enhancing their authentic character and decorative appeal.
A refined example of high-status Chinese seating furniture during the Qing Dynasty, combining Ming-style tradition with the decorative taste of the 19th century.
