About the Item

An statement making and most decorative pair of Italian 19th century Baroque st. Giltwood armchairs. Each wonderful chair is raised by four legs, with the back legs being square and straight while the front two legs are immensely decorated with a Rocaille designs. Each leg is connected to its adjacent leg except for the back legs which is left open. The arms are decorated with carved scrolling acanthus leaves, similar in design to the front two legs. The fully upholstered square back is supported by the back legs, leaving a fine opening between seat and back rest.
