About the Item
A most impressive pair of Italian mid-19th century Louis XIV st. giltwood armchairs. Each armchair is raised by handsome square tapered legs with fine reeded block feet and rich foliate designs. Each leg is connected by an elegant scrolled stretcher. The lightly curved cushioned arms display finely carve foliate designs, lovely rosettes and flowers that lead up to the upholstered back supports. Finished with fine French brass nails.
