About the Item

Luigi “Gigi” Radice (1924-2002) was a renowned Italian designer and architect whose work was of significant importance in the development of the Italian Mid-Century Modern style. Gigi Radice came to prominence in the 1950s and designed lines of furniture for several prestigious Italian furniture brands, most notably the Minotti brand. His furniture projects are the epitome of the Mid-Century Modern style, and are characterised by clean lines, organic forms, and high-quality materials. He was known for clean, elegant and sophisticated design, making many of his creations, in particular his chairs, classics in the world of modern design. His work in the field of interior design helped define the style and elegance of Italian design during that era. His creations continue to be appreciated for their timeless appeal and are often sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of furniture design. These armchairs have been refurbished in our studio with replacement foam padding over the armrests and seat cushions and have been reupholstered with an Italian boucle in a melange of gunmetal grey and warm beige.
