About the Item

This pair of late nineteenth century Louis XVI style hand carved walnut armchairs features a central knotted ribbon at the top of the seat back and acanthus leaf finials. The chairs are also ornamented with an overlapping quatrefoil motif and gold detailing. The seatback gently leans back and is fitted with scrolling armrests. The seat rests on classic tapered fluted legs, circa 1890.
