About the Item

This pair of lounge chairs by Audoux-Minet is a fine example of the celebrated French duo’s work, renowned for their use of natural materials and refined rustic modern aesthetic. Designed and produced in France in the 1970s, the chairs feature a solid wood frame combined with a handwoven rope seat and backrest, forming a distinctive geometric pattern typical of Audoux-Minet’s craftsmanship. The restrained, architectural lines are balanced by the warmth and texture of the rope, giving the chairs a strong sculptural presence. The chairs present a beautiful original patina, consistent with age and use. The rope weaving is overall well preserved, with a few very minor losses to note, discreet and in keeping with vintage condition, without affecting the structure or comfort. Highly versatile, these chairs integrate seamlessly into mid-century modern, wabi-sabi, brutalist, or rustic contemporary interiors and are increasingly sought after by collectors of French postwar design.
