About the Item

These model 719 armchairs designed by Koloman Moser for the firm Jacob Jjosef Kohn in 1902 , their dimensions are H 86 cm., width 53 cm., depth 52 cm. and seat height 44 cm. (with expertise). These armchairs are an outstanding example of the elegant and innovative aesthetics of Viennese Art Nouveau. These works in beech wood and brass reflect Moser's ability to combine functionality and decoration in a harmonious way. They present a sinuous, linear structure that enhances the lightness and stability of curved wood. Made of curved beechwood, the armchairs demonstrate the craftsmanship of the period. Brass details add a refined touch and emphasize the elegance of the ensemble. The design focuses on refined simplicity, with smooth surfaces and essential decorative details. Attention to proportion and ergonomics reflects Moser's commitment to harmony between form and function. The armchairs are accompanied by expertise from the BEL ETAGE gallery in Vienna guaranteeing their authenticity, and testify to the historical and artistic importance of these creations. These armchairs are not only functional seats but also collector's pieces, representing Koloman Moser's contribution to Viennese modernism and the definition of a new visual language for furniture. J J Kohn Jacob Josef Kohn, also known as J. J. Kohn, were Austrian furniture manufacturers and interior designers based in Vienna. Jacob Kohn (1791-1866), together with his son Josef Kohn (1814-1884), founded the company in 1849. Later, Kohn would become a major furniture manufacturer in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, emerging as one of Gebrüder Thonet's main competitors. Kohn collaborated with artists from the Wiener Werkstätte and with Josef Hoffmann in the design of many pieces. Koloman Moser Koloman Moser (1868-1918) was a prominent painter and designer, one of the founding members and artistic director of the Jugenstil art movement. Along with Josef Hoffman, Moser co founded the iconic Wiener Werkstätte ( Viennese workshop) . The Wiener Werkstätte was a workshop dedicated to the production of craftwork.
