About the Item

Pair of Naeko armchairs designed by Japanese architect Kazuhide Takahama dating back to Gavina’s first production. Cherry-wood structure, original upholstery. The project for Naeko was developed when Kazuhide Takahama was in Italy to set up the Japanese pavilion at XI Triennale in Milan, 1956/57. On that occasion he met Dino Gavina, with whom he began a lifelong collaboration and friendship. Architect Takahama dedicated this project to Naeko, who later became his wife.
