These are a super unique pair of armchairs, most likely custom made for a Paris Exhibition in the 1970's, they have very solid and heavy chrome frames, the timber is Zebrano wood as mentioned and the leather is French cattle hide
What's very art modern on these chairs is the contrast in lines, firstly they are Asymmetrical not symmetrical which is super unique on its own, then, sections that should have straight lines don't and visa versa, the chrome back supports for example aren't squared off but have a tapered, bevelled edge, I've never seen anything like it, the arms are made of either crystal or glass, they are cold to the touch and extremely hard, they don't look like any kind of chair arm I have ever seen before, the back rests are sloping and curved, the zebrano wood pillars, a section that would traditionally be curved, is as straight and angled as it could possibly be, these chairs defy all logic for furniture making and yet they work, they are stunning, pure art furniture from every angle
Condition wise they have been restored, the leather has been washed back, hand dyed six times, antiqued, sealed waxed down and polished, the timber has been lightly French polished, there will be age and use related patina marks here and there, the back of one of the glass or crystal arms has a small section missing, otherwise they are in super fine order throughout

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
