About the Item

A pair of Regency period mahogany armchairs in the manner of James Woodhouse, apprentice to George and Richard Gillow. The reeding on the undulating shaped arms continues all the way down the saber legs. With ebonized detailing on the ladder-back rails and side seat rails. The drop-in seats are now covered in a later leopard print fabric. Outstanding timber and patina. Fine quality and very good, sturdy condition. English, circa 1810.
