About the Item
This rare pair of armchairs was produced by Sten Wicéns Möbelindustri in Sweden in the 1950s.
The elegant design is characterized by its rounded, organic lines, creating a sumptuous and striking silhouette. The embracing, inviting shape of the chair is further accentuated by the braided cord detail throughout and the complementary green color of the upholstered seat. The buttoned back rest and carved, vertically grooved legs in solid elm wood complete the design.
The chairs are in very good, restored condition. Fully reconditioned and reupholstered in sand/beige Pierre Frey 'Angkor' fabric with a refined texture. The seat cushion upholstered in the same Pierre Frey fabric in a green shade. Samuel
Sons cord detail throughout, matching the color of the fabric.
Other Scandinavian Modern designers working in the same style and era include Viggo Boesen, Märta Blomstedt, Arnold Madsen and Flemming Lassen.
