About the Item
Pair of Art Deco era arm chairs with steam bent birch arms. Sometimes also referred to as “Funkis” (Functionalist) or “Art Moderne,” as this streamlined style stripped unnecessary ornamentation and artifice and left clean lines and function. As Scandinavian interiors often have very low ceilings to contain heat, seating tends to be diminutive in footprint but is deceptively comfortable as a result of the seat depth and pitch. These have been restored by our team of craftsmen while maintaining the vintage integrity of the pieces. They have been re-sprung, re-padded and reupholstered in a lovely lush green wool mohair velvet. Very comfortable.
