About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this sublime pair of viscount David Linley, Ivory white leather Max Club armchairs with walnut frames and mirrored feet RRP £15,500 These are a very stylish and exceptionally comfortable pair of armchairs, I have seen them in many a garish fabric colour before but never such luxurious ivory white leather as these The chairs have the original small Linley fabric labels to the back, the much larger fabric labels under the seats and lastly the original order slip next to it The condition is lovely, they may have some light age and use related patina but as far as I can see they are in very fine order indeed Dimensions Height:- 65.5cm Width:- 77cm Depth:- 70cm Seat height:- 47cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.

PAIR OF STUNNiNG GUGLIELMO ULRICH MACASSAR EBONY CREAM LEATHER LOUNGE ARMCHAIRS
By Guglielmo Ulrich
Located in West Sussex, Pulborough
Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning pair of original mid-century modern Guglielmo Ulrich (1904-1977) Macassar Ebony Cream Leather Lounge armchairs Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote, please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price. Guglielmo Ulrich was an Italian architect, furniture designer, and painter. He was born to a notable family of Danish origin In 1924 Ulrich enrolled in the Scuola Speciale di Architettura at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. He finished his studies at Politecnico di Milano in 1927 and soon became a very influential figure in modern Italian design. In 1930, along with Scaglia and Wild, Guglielmo Ulrich founded and became head designer of home furnishing company Arca (Arredamento casa, or Home Furnishing), a company engaged in the creation of high-quality furnishing accessories characterized by craftsmanship and the use of premium materials. In the 1950s, he participated in several editions of the Triennale di Milano and concentrated on designing buildings, offices, and retail shops throughout Italy. Most of Ulrich's furniture designs from this era, and especially his chairs and chaise lounges, resemble simplified and streamlined design versions of late 19th century pieces and do not necessarily conform to modern designs prevalent in northern Europe and the U.S. in the 1950s. In the 1960s, Ulrich focused his work toward industrial design and was able to create original and impactful objects. In 1961, he won the Fiera di Trieste award for his Trieste chair, produced by furniture maker Saffa. Although his work does not quite conform with the strict norms of simplicity of the time, it fits the prevalent aesthetics of Modernism. This pair of armchairs are pure Art furniture from every angle, you will never see another designer being as bold as Ulrich, the chairs are low and long, they are super comfortable and have rolled seat cushions much like Mustang car...
