Poltrona Biedermeier in legno di noce, di ambito veneto eseguita nella prima metà del XIX secolo, 1820 circa. La poltrona misura cm 95,5x59x56 ed è in buono stato di conservazione. Presenta leggeri segni dovuti all’epoca e all’usura. Ha subito una pulitura superficiale e una lucidatura a gommalacca e cera. Recentemente è stato eseguito un lavoro di imbottitura della seduta e dei braccioli. Lo Stile Biedermeier è stato un movimento artistico che si è sviluppato tra la borghesia tedesca e austriaca intorno al 1815 e il 1848. Nasce come contrapposizione allo stile Impero e alle sue linee imponenti e pompose, tanto in voga nel XIX secolo, a favore di linee più sobrie e spoglie di vezzi e orpelli eccessivi, perfettamente in linea con la filosofia di vita semplice delle famiglie nobili tedesche di prima metà dell’Ottocento.
