About the Item

Popptorp armchair designed by Knut Hagberg Marianne Hagberg for IKEA, Sweden, produced during the 1990s. The model illustrates the Hagberg design studio’s functional and material-focused approach, where industrial plastics are utilised to create soft, rounded forms reflective of late 20th-century design language. The chair is executed in moulded white plastic with the original black cushion. The pedestal base and enveloping shell give the piece its characteristic Space Age profile, while maintaining the practical qualities associated with IKEA’s Scandinavian production. This example remains in very good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age and use. No cracks or structural issues. (Several chairs available; price is for one.)
