About the Item

Single Popptorp chair designed by Knut Hagberg and Marianne Hagberg for IKEA during the 1990s. This model reflects the designers’ exploration of moulded plastics as a structural and aesthetic solution, characteristic of their longstanding contribution to IKEA’s design identity. Formed in white injection-moulded plastic with its original black upholstered cushion, the chair features an enveloping seat shell mounted on a circular pedestal base. The silhouette references late 20th-century Scandinavian interpretations of postmodern and Space Age design principles, balancing sculptural presence with functional utility. The piece is in very good vintage condition, exhibiting minor wear consistent with age and regular domestic use. No cracks, discoloration, or structural repairs. (Offered individually; multiple chairs available.)
